💼 Job Summary:
Rakuten, one of Japan’s largest e-commerce and internet services companies, is hiring Software Engineers to join their expanding tech team in Tokyo. The role involves designing and developing backend systems for Rakuten’s large-scale applications, serving millions of users globally.
🔧 Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Kotlin

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, QA)

Optimize system performance and scalability

Participate in code reviews and Agile development processes

Ensure high availability, maintainability, and security of services
✅ Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

2+ years of experience in backend development (Java, Kotlin preferred)

Experience with RESTful APIs, cloud services (AWS/Azure), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Proficiency in CI/CD tools and DevOps practices

English proficiency required; Japanese is a plus but not mandatory
