🎯 Job Overview
As an Obesity Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in Oviva’s Tier 3 specialist weight management programme. Your primary responsibility will be remotely assessing patients for eligibility and suitability for GLP-1 Receptor Agonist (GLP-1 RA) therapy (e.g., Wegovy) and managing their clinical progress through personalized care plans.
This role is ideal for nurses who are experienced Non-Medical Prescribers (NMP) and are confident managing patients in a virtual environment.
🧪 Key Responsibilities

Conduct remote eligibility assessments for patients considering pharmacological obesity treatments

Initiate and manage GLP-1 RA therapies, including prescribing and titration

Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation and records

Collaborate with dietitians, administrative teams, and clinical leads to support patient flow

Provide patient-centered care in alignment with national guidelines

Offer cover and support for other Oviva services (e.g., Type 2 Diabetes Remission Programme)

✅ Required Qualifications and Skills
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

NMC-registered Nurse, or HCPC-registered paramedic/physiotherapist

Must have a Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (independent prescribing)

At least one year of prescribing experience

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage a virtual caseload

Comfortable with digital platforms and remote care delivery

Legally authorized to work in the UK with active registration
